i upgraded from winXP pro running at 1024-768 to windows 7 Ultimate. now when i start it does POST then screen goes black then blue box saying out of range H.35Khz V.86.6Hz. when it finally gets to windows desktop it runs at 800 - 600 unable to change

Did you have successful clean install moving from XP Pro to Win7? Any issues announced then? Did you run Win7 upgrade advisor?

Tell us about your configuration of your system - MB, Memory,monitor, Processor, HD, etc.

Try downloading/installing the latest video driver from the video card manufacturer's website. (If a Win7 driver isn't available, use the one for Vista.)
