Which version for my processor?

I am building a PC featuring the AMD Phenom II X4 925 (see below for link) and was wondering exactly what version of windows I need. I am assuming a 64-bit version but not much more than that.

If anyone could provide a link to avoid confusion, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Here's a pretty comprehensive list of the differences between versions.

The best choices would be Home Premium or Professional unless you need Bit Locker or Multi-Language support available in the Ultimate version.
  2. YES buy a 64 bit os!

Home Premium is fine for most!

You will need the 64 bit because you will want to use more than 4 gigs of ram !
  3. I know this may sound a bit amateur, but I'm assuming I'll need the 'Full' not the 'Upgrade' version.
  4. You can buy the full version but the upgrade version will do a full install..check out link!

If your up to the challenge it works and saves you some cash!

or another choice is full oem!

oem is for that build only and no microsoft support for issues!

If you buy full retail the license can be transferred to a different computer if you ever uninstall it from your new build!
