I am looking at getting a new wired adsl router with support for adsl2/2+ but i am looking to know if there is kit out there would allow me to set bandwidth download limits per pc/connection... (eg pc 1has 1/2meg, pc2 has 1meg & pc3 has 1/4meg etc) ??

if so, brand & model & what to look for in the technical spec so that i know in future...

I use a software package called Netlimiter and it works a treat:

Nice bit of software 8) but i need something that stops 1pc on a small network from hogging all the bandwidth from the other 3 :( (all pcs plug directly into my current adsl router & then to the internet)

That's easy to do.

You simply install netlimiter on all PCs and set how much bandwidth each PC is allowed to use.

can the software be password protected to stop the user changing the program settings ??

I think so (my brother uses it).
Best of all .. you can make it invisible in the system tray 8)

sounds good, will give it a run... slightly cheaper than a router costing £130 brand new lol
