Time to buy new system?or wait?

Have a outdated system and seeing as vista is coming out in january i was wondering if i should buy now or wait untill vista and graphics cards for vista come out. pretty big pc gammer. have around $2,000 to spend on a new system and wondering if its worth it to just wait untill begging of 07.

have now- athlon xp +3200 , 1gb ram, 160gb hd, ati radeon 9800pro 128MB, sound blaster live.

Ah, good ol' 9800Pro.

At this point in time I would wait until the DX10 card comes out. nVidia's DX10 GPUs should be coming out a little over a month from now.
