Cleaning Glass on Epson 2450

Although it does not seem to show up in the scans I seem to have some film
on the glass near the top of the scanner that I can not get rid of. This is
near where the hinge for the cover is attached and where my medium format
scans are done. Is this a common problem ? The rest of the glass is clear as
can be. Thanks Matt
