Honest answer?
Right now, negg prices are hitting a premium because of people "negging"
thier pets..
Ie, collecting as many negg points and turning them in for certain neggs
that will raise thier pet's stats.
Certain items, like the different cloaks have made people realise they have
to raise stats.. others just want to give thier pets a pick-up after the
war, and prep for the next one..
But I believe negg prices will continue to rise, barring neopets introducing
something like the omelette but with free neggs

I'm not 100% up and up on all the latest items :S

To use the map, go to the game: Treasure Maps. If you have all 9 pieces in your inventory, you will get some prizes and then be allowed to use the lab ray.
