I just installed a new eVGA 7950GX2 today with the 91.47 drivers from Nvidia. So far it's performance hasn't been all that impressive. Multi-GPU support is enabled in the control panel. 3Dmark06 reports a score of 4999, which is much lower than most 7950GX2 users are getting. Quake 4 seems to run perfectly at maxed settings however. Here are my specs:
1. Make sure to set via the Nvidia control panel for anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering to be application controlled for 3dMark2006. If you have it set to anything else, you are not running the tests at the default settings like most others.
2. Download Coolbits registry tweak or just add the variables to the registry yourself, search google. Have Coolbits automatically determine your overclocking settings. Should be 550 clock/700 mem...
3. Perform the test immediately after a reboot and limit applications loaded on startup.
You should be getting around 8500-9000 3dmarks with your setup.
I made sure all setting were application controlled before I ran the tests, and coolbits is reporting the correct frequency settings (500/600) as specified by the manufacturer. I'm going to try messing with different drivers and see if that helps.
