The Leadtek is a much better card.
However you'd be better off getting a single, more powerful card in the first place rather than doing any lower-end SLI setup.

oblivion sure seemed to run smoother with 2 cards in sli, but i got that same performance when i dumped the second card and upped my processor to a c2d.

However you'd be better off getting a single, more powerful card in the first place rather than doing any lower-end SLI setup.

I agree w/ this.

I appreciate the feedback guys. But Im doing the SLI. If only because Im a stubburn moron who just wants to do it. But my reasoning is I want to be able to do high resolutions. Im getting a monitor with a native res of 1440X900. So I want to make sure I can run games at that resolution all the time.

Thanks for the input. I would just rather do SLI now, because I dont think I may get the chance to add a second card for a long time.

LOL... well, we can at least appreciate this guy's honesty. Yes, SLI is pretty pointless on the low-end, but then again so is water cooling... and I did that... just because I wanted to. Good luck with your SLI rig.

Yeah, the Leadtek is much better. More RAM doesn't help at the low end. And IMO I don't think it is a good idea to put two passive cooled video cards in one close area (unless your case has superb airflow/water cooling)

How about a 7600GS SLI? They perform pretty well too. (Close to 6800GS SLI) They cost 88.88 at the egg.

edit: 7600GS SLI is better than a single 6800Ultra.
Proof of Performance

Just go the with LeadTek and don't look back. If you want to do it, go ahead! And good luck

Who cares if two 7600GS' outperform a 6800 Ultra according to tom's VGA charts? A single 7600GT outperforms a 6800 Ultra usually. Do NOT get SLI if you're running two low end videocards.

DO NOT put two if these in SLI. Putting low end cards in SLI is a cardinal sin when you can just spend the money on a midrange card that will be much faster.

My advice: drop both cards and get a X850XT or a 7600GT.

LOL..... People want what they want. I did it, regret it, but i'm out of my funk now. Good thing the 7600GS was on the cheap, Less than $100/card. If you do get them, you will see a minor difference. In Oblivion that's golden. Till you beat the game and can't go back.

Have fun and let us know how your performance changed w/ SLi.

Which of these is the better 7300GT? I am looking to put them in SLI.

Leadtek GDDR3 But 128MB

Asus Silent 256MB But GDDR2

They are both 128 Bit. But the leadtek is less ram but much higher clock speeds. But the Asus is lower clock speeds but more ram. Plus the asus ram is only GDDR2.

Im assuming the leadtek is a sure winner. Thanks for the help.

I saw what you said about wanting to run in higher resolutions, but a single 7600GT should perform a lot better than either of those cards at higher resolutions. Or save up 40 more bucks and get an x1800xt 256mb, will totally pwn all those cards!

But if you still HAVE to have SLI on the cheap get the leadtek.

Yeah, I would never get SLi, especially for the low end cards. But since he really wants it, no one can stop him from doing it (except himself)
