CPU core voltage fluctuates between 1.120 and 1.280 at idle

Hello,

Running Everest CPUID showed that the CPU core voltage for both the cores was fluctuating with the following values

1.120 1.168 1.184 1.216 1.280

At full load with TAT it was 1.264 constant.

Is this normal, the fluctuation in voltage can the CPU be damaged?

What power supply are you using? A cheap PSU might be your answer.

Also, what motherboard is it, the voltage regulatory circuits may be going bad or maybe the boards a defect.

Ditto from me - the vcore is up and down all the time...

I have an Asus P5W DH DL and an Antec TruePower 2 PSU.

Well the PSU I am using is not a cheap one altough it is not as good as antec.
It is 500W power-supply by L&C and in india considered GOOD (after antec and cooler masters) and people who can't afford antec buy this powersupply

Surprisingly at load the voltage seems to not fluctuate.

What is the ideal voltage which needs to be supplied to core 2 duo E6300?

Is this a problem? Should I change the PSU?

The motherboard is Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2, based on the 945GM chipset.

It's normal, it's just Enhanced SpeedStep and/or C1E halt under-volting at low CPU usage.
