Hi

My parents just gave me a Foxconn 945GZ7MC-RS2H motherboard and I plan to buy a C2D 6400 to use with it. However it´s kind of confusing, it works a 800mhz FSB as all the 945gz mobos around. My question is:

-The core 2 duo 6400 will work only at 800mhz (1.6)underclocked?

-I need to overclock the FSB to 266, if so is this available on this mobo?

-the core 2 duo simply won´t work as all the c2d avaibale nowadays?

I have a alternative, my friend could exchange this one for a Asrock conroexfire 775 945p wich in fact support C2D 6400 BUT it has no integrated video (I´m not a gamer).

shoul I better exchange this mobo? if so wich low end pcie video card recommend me?

thanks in advance, I´m a novice.

Do the math with me. If your E6400 has a 8X multiplier and it runs at 2.13ghz that's 21300/8 = 2662.5 = the FSB of 266mhz. Your E6400 will run exactly as it's supposed to.
