DVR question

Hi everyone
i have a DVR/security question


i have just bought a security camera for my garage

now i wanna record the footage from my camera onto my tv\

my question is:

can i use any kind of DVR to record the footage or........... do i have to buy the security DVR they sell on the security cam websites\?

any comments and answers r greatly appreciated

I am not sure about the over-the-counter-ready DVR systems that you might find at Best Buy, but how about your computer? Do you have a decent system that could act as a DVR?

Just a thought. I don't end up messing with my DISHTV DVR all that much, and when I set up one one my computer using a All-In-Wonder card, I was underimpressed by my channel reception - not the card's capabilities, as it worked fine.
