Media Center Content on PPC

Well, yes, if it is media player 10. It is if you upgraded, I believe. Dell
did post a ROM update that added MP10 to the X30. I don't know if any brand
new ones are shipping with it in ROM already.

One of the great features of MP10 on the desktop and MP10 on the PPC is that
it does conversions for you automatically. You cradle your PPC (has to be
cradle, doesn't work WiFi), and select the content you wish to SYNC to your
PPC from within Media player. You will find categories for Music, Videos,
and TV in the Pocket player. The process will copy the music over as is, but
will convert any of the videos into PPC appropriate formats and will do this
with recorded TV as well.

If you dig into it, you will find that you can set up sync profiles that can
smartly update your media transfers. You could set up a video playlist that
culls recently recorded TV (last night?) and syncs that to your PPC
automatically. It appears to allow deleting content from your PPC to make
room for new stuff, by establishing a dynamic playlist, and syncing it. Let
of neat capability.

My only problem is that my Media Center PC isn't the same computer that I
sync my PPC to. :(  I would need to transfer the DVR files to my 'office'
PC for this all to work, right?

You can copy the DVD-MS file to your work computer. However, you'll need
WMP10 and a compatible MPEG decoder installed for it to work while your
Pocket PC is synced.

You could also set up a partnership on the Media Center PC and just not
select anything to sync. Or you could just select guest everytime to save
the partnership, or get Chris Deherrera's Guest toggle program so it always
comes up as guest. It just needs to be connected, it doesn't need to be
partnered via AS.
