I got a 940 form ebay at a good price and I call tiger direct... yea I know! I didnt have a lot of money for a mobo so the sugested a Gigabyte GA-81865gme-775, so I got it link below
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2223&ModelName=GA-8I865GME-775

this mobo only supports 2 sticks @ 1gb each of pc3200! How can the proc run at 800fsb if the ram only runs at 400? did I waste my money, should I have a mobo that supports ddr2 8oo mhz ?, and the problem with that is I have a brand new ati 512 agp card and dont want to dump it.

Actually the intel 800 mhz fsb runs at 200 mhz. And that ram actually also runs at 200 mhz. But the fsb has an effective transfer rate of 800mhz because it is quad-pumped. And same goes for the ram it has an effective clock rate of 400 mhz because it is double data rate. I don't know how it works but quad-pumped means I think that it sends 4 bits of data down one pin per clock cycle. And the ram sends 2 bits of data down 1 pin per clock cycle. So both of them run at 200 mhz which makes a 1:1 ratio witch is like the best cpu to ram ratio. But it still is halve of the bus. And thats why there is dual channel ram. Dual channel is when you have two sticks of ram. So 2 sticks both running at an effective clock rate of 400 mhz add them up and it equals 800 mhz. But the real world speed of running dual channel barely makes a difference than if you were just running single channel. Everything should work perfectly.
