Hello everyone,

As you can see below I have a XFX GeForce 7900GTX graphics card. I have installed Windows Pro x64 onto my first partition but im having issues actually playing games. The graphics are not drawn properly and textures etc just arent right. It ultimately stops me actually playing.

What i have in my sig is exactly how i had everything running under windows home edition, 32bit of course. I have everything at stock atm and its definetly not the overclock thats causing it.

I have tried several different drivers, most say they dont detect a windows operating system but basically im wandering if anyone can recommend any drivers that have worked for them.

[Edit] Come to think of it, this should be in software forum, sorry :(

Luckily enough for me ive had 0 problems with my card until i installed x64 edition of Windows. Its even overclocked a fair bit and stayed relatively cool temp wise as well.

Just need a new case/psu/ram and im all set ^^

Thats good man, glad you have had no problems with it. I dont mean to sound like they are all bad it just seems that the ratio of good to bad cards is higher with the XFX series than the other ones such as BFG and such.

You base your opinion of an entire brand on one DOA product? Seems a bit narrow-minded. I've had zero problems with my XFX 7800 GTX and it's well over a year old at this point and has been overclocked a majority of its life. To each his own I guess.

Ok and which version of drivers are you using for it? The ones on the cd? (the cd that crashed my system everytime it is run.. and no it doesnt count as a problem since i can easily downlaod any needed drivers :P)

I have gone through 3 XFX 7900GTX extreme edition cards in 2 weeks..
The first card caused my system to constantly freeze-up. The second card displayed artifacts and tearing of textures... The 3rd one works perfectly though. So i suggest that you return the card and get a replacement hey.

AKJ, no offence mate but thats a bit damn hasty considering ive ran it now for some months and its been more than great and its never passed 55 degrees on full load.

RMA should always be a last resort, if i can get drivers that are known to work and i still have problems then ill consider it, until then im not even goin to entertain that idea.

I fully agree with you there, RMA was my last resort. I used the drivers that came with the card. Then i tried the latest drivers. I even got an older driver from a buddy of mine.. I still had issues. Then, i put each of those cards into my older pc and alas, the same issues were there.

But like i said, my current card works fine tho.
Heres my spec:

ASUS P5W DH DELUXE
CORE 2 DUO E6600
XFX 7900GTX EXTREME EDITION
2GB OCZ DDR2 667 RAM
CREATIVE AUDIGY SOUND CARD

Ill also maybe try it out back on my home edition of windows, doesnt take that long to format and install it and it will pretty much tell me right away if its the card or not.. hmm.

I hope its not the card, had it running perfect at 725/925 for a good bit and i had no artifacts or anything. Since its not extreme edition stock settings are 650/800 i believe.

Yep buddy.. So i pretty much tried everything. But my system is running like a beast now though :D

Maybe i just had some bad luck when i got the first 2 cards hey? LOL, but hey, 3rd time lucky.

So my suggestion is, put the card in a different pc (or even format like you said).. Benchmark it.. Then check if the same issues occur.

Goodluck! ;)
