Hi,
I erased all the info form my 1GB SD card (I was trying to erase a folder
next to the SD folder); How can I recover all the data from the SD keeping
the same names and folders???
Thnks

If you erased the card, you are out of luck. There is no Recycle Bin or
similar.

I am sure there are some software out there to recover data from memory
cards. It is likely that the files are marked as deleted but the data is
still there. I used one before on another person's PC to recover images on
a SD card. Don't remember the name anymore. May be somebody can suggest
such a product?

any pc data recovery software should work with the card in a pc card
reader attached to the pc with recover software.

Since there is no recycle bin, it should be posible, but tedious.

For future reference, you can easily do a card backup to your pc by
copying the root of the card and pasting it in an empty backup folder.

Another approach is to use a file sync program on the important folders
located on the card... there is one in file explorer on the pc under
"tools" but I recommend something such as filesync from http://fileware.com

This is copied from their web site, the software is free

PC INSPECTORTsmart recovery
http://www.pcinspector.de/smart_me [...] elcome.htm
is the new data recovery program from CONVAR for Flash CardT, Smart MediaT,
SONY Memory StickT, IBMT Micro Drive, Multimedia Card, Secure Digital Card
or any other data carrier for digital cameras..

If you have unintentionally deleted or formatted pictures, videos or sound
files on your data carrier or have pulled it out during a write operation,
no matter - PC INSPECTORT smart recovery can easily, quickly and absolutely
reliably reconstruct the lost data.

E. Newing, thanks for your help. I tried PC Inspector, It is good if you
don't mind changing file's names (only pics and other documents). actually I
am looking for something similar to norton utilities back in the 90's (when
actually Mr. Norton owned his business) using NU.EXE or undelete or unformat
(DOS) I used to be able to choose files (any type), tree directory, etc. Is
it possible to find an utility like that in this days?
Thanks.
JC

Did you try a search engine? There are programs to recover. There are
also sites like download.com

If you object to changing file names (your dissatisfaction with PC
Inspector isn't clear) why can't you rename them back to whatever you
want?

Hi Alan, I tried some "trial" programs but they only allow me to recover
photos and other documents. I wish I knew the name of the files and the
folder where they were (even if I have to change manually the name of almost
1GB worth of info), but, I installed some programs, games and mp3 in my SD
card 'cuz I didn't wanted to fill up the pocket pc's memory.
Thank you for your Reply.

This is completely ridiculous that data’s and files lost or that has been deleted from SD cards cannot be retrieved because there are many Data Recovery Companies that can help you get those lost files from any Storage Devices that you are working with.

No matter they are SD Cards, Memory Sticks, USB Drives or any other Solid State Drives and Hard Disk Drives Data Recovery is possible and worth giving a try.

One of the finesse t engineers that I know is www.eprovided.com who has even served NASA.

Contact and you will know the difference between software’s and engineers.
