Trading post rant

Read at your own risk.

I think that they do not always show new things on the TP because for a week
I received nothing about them, and now everyone wants something, but for not
enough.

For instance, a person offered me 4 common omelettes for my Golden Paint
Brush (I am hoping for 130 k, not the cheapest on the TP, but someone wants
upwards of 300k). When I immediately rejected them, she sent it again! So
I go to Neomail her (him?) to tell her why, and she is "under 13 and unable
to reply". And I think "GOOD!" and proceed to tell her about supply and
demand, and the SW and other stuff that is helpful to newbies. I was even
much nicer than I had planned on being!

But I can't send it to her, something about not having parental concent.
ARGGHH!!!!!
So she doesn't learn, and inflicts herself on others, and me. ARGGHHH!

Someone else wants me to wait until they have done some other trades and
they think they want all my trades. And to pay me in Codestones and
Dubloons and Neggs (and PB?)..... Besides the PB I have a Bronze Brightvale
Job Coupon (I am hoping for 215k) and I stuck all my (TCG) Cards into a
trade as well as the Avatar Cards. It always surprises me that people will
"borrow" a card (one) for 25k plus tip, but they won't trade me something
and get to keep the three of them.

OK, I am feeling better. I think.

I often wish there was a "laugh in your face" option when rejecting a
trade.

From the point of view of someone who often doesn't know what it is
reasonable to bid, I would also appreciate it :). Or some feedback,
anyway. It would be useful to know if it was a case of "not even close" or
just "not quite what I was looking for". (Especially useful for "random"
lots, not so much if I'm looking for something specific in which case I
will already know what it's worth to me -- but I *like* random trades...
and I'm a natural born packrat, though still far from getting the avatar,
which I only found out about a couple of days ago.)

if I reject a reasonable bid, I usually send a neomail telling why

That's extremely considerate. I suspect you're in a small minority --
though I haven't been trading enough to be able to actually tell from
experience :)

What about the people who write e.g. "10K" but don't add "pure only"? As a
prospective buyer, should I assume that they want money only, or that items
or a mix is ok?

Well, normally, 10k means Np, but sometimes you can tempt people by giving
them market value in faeries, codestones or dubloons (Ie easy-to-sell
popular items)
but for the most party, if they say a price, they usually stick to it, np
wise ;)
