Im trying to figure out an easy way to hook my 5.1 speakers to my VCR. The bad part is that the speakers are originally for me computer and my VCR only has RCA outputs. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

if your speakers have RCA imputs, buy cables and use them. If not, buy RCA to mini-RCA (aka headphones) cables and hook up 2 speakers to your VCR.
Without a reciever, you wont get 5.1 surroundsound from your VCR

What you want is one of these: the Creative Labs DDTS-100 decoder.

Reviewd on Tom's Hardware a while back - very positive.

Url for manufacturer's info is: www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=136&product=9468

This puppy can connect pretty well any A/V component to a set of 5.1 speakers. Even better, it can simultaneously connect your computer to the same set of speakers. Works with 6.1 & 7.1 speakers too.

You can buy the unit direct from Creative as either a stndalone piece for about $160.00 or as a kit that includes a resonably good set of Creative 5.1 speakers for about $200.00

This product is well hiden on the creative website, but it is definitely the answer to your question.
