I'm building a Core 2. I've read everything on the forums to help. But I want to make sure I got the right specs before I hit the "Buy" button. Also, will my power supply be good enough or do I need more watts? I already got a monitor, speakers, and OS. This system is mainly for gaming and graphic arts work and trying to stay under $2000. Please suggest anything I need or don't need. (Mild overclocking will be involved.) =] Thank you.

Everything seems fine, the PSU is okay. If you intend on getting SLI or crossfire, you might want to bump PSU to 600-700W range or get a vid card PSU for them later.

Don't see any compatabiility issues either.

I agree but who wants SLI or CF?

Not worth the money IMO.

That's just personal preference. Maybe buy a card for ~$300 now and buy another when it drops down to ~150. Will get a nice performance boost instead of buyign a new ~$300. Again, IMHO.

You gonna be OC'ing? Cuz I dont see an aftermarket HSF or cooling solution. If not, I would also suggest you look at the MSI Platinum V.2 or the AW9-Max (latter can run SLI, don't ask for details). Both are cheaper, and if your not OC'ing perform just as well.

2 DVD burners... one lightscribe one not.. any reason?

I would say, get a 600W GameXStream. Not much more, but would give you a lot more headroom.

All looks good to me. I think that 550W is still a good range to have for a PSU, but if you want some more power and a bit of peace of mind for the future, you can go for OCZ GameXStream ATX12V 700W while still staying within your budget.
