intel's purchase program for retail outlets is coming. the deal is :

This year's bundle will consist of the following:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor E6300
Intel® Desktop Board DG965WH
Microsoft* Windows Vista* Ultimate

All for the low, low price of $220!

Seems like a good deal, but I haven't heard much about the 6300's performance for gaming purposes. Is there something else for $100-150 more that would significantly outperform this Chip/Board ?

Also, anyone know what retail will be for Vista Ultimate?

Yeah, a Gigabyte 965P-S3 would let you overclock the 1866MHz chip in that combo to 3GHz easily.

Sell the G965 garbage... get a real video card, and game on.

$183 for E6300.

Unknown for the board, but seems like a solid deal to me:) Don't think you can beat it.

Their deal are always sweet, but usually you dont want whats in the bundle.

I say jump on this one, for that freaking windows alone, you can re-sale it =)

And the 6300 is really good at gaming
