Hello ,
Is there any issues when installing windows to a blank HD from and IDE cd-rom and no floppy drive ? . I’ve been reading there may not be any IDE support unless drivers are loaded. But without a floppy is this possible? Or Should I be able to boot to the IDE cd rom out of the box?
Thanks

It depends on the version of Windows, and if Windows XP, it also depends on if you are using one with service packs or not. The older windows did need extra drivers installed for "large" hard drives, but not small ones. There was an exception to this. SCSI drives - something I doubt you have, required extra drivers also.

In your case, as long as you have Windows SP1 or later, you should have no problem with IDE support of your drives. If you have the original Windows XP, you may need to use the F6 prompt during windows setup to install IDE drivers. The optical drive should work regardless.
