Hello all,

I have a 3800 X2 socket 939 cpu, and I have it at 2.60ghz. My vcore is set in the bios to 1.475 and CPU-Z 1.37 reads it was 1.46 - 1.55v...average is 1.5v! Im not sure what my temps are yet, because I havent ran prime yet. I was just wandering if this voltage is fine for air cooling. I run a P180 case with the fans on high and have an Arctic Freezer 64 Pro cpu cooler with AS5 thermal paste.

Settings: Antec NeoHE 550w PS / ASUS AN8-E
10x260
4x HTT = 1040mhz (2080mhz effective)
1.475v "in bios" (1.46 - 1.55v in CPU-Z / 1.50 in Speed Fan)

What do you guys think, is it safe for regular useage?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Best,

I have been running prime95 for about 6 hours now and it has had no errors and my max temp is 54 degrees. I looked in the OC guide for A64's and it says that 55 and below are fine, but it doesnt say much about highest Vcore.

Im not an overclocking noob, I just like some reassurance from someone else that it looks good to go!

Thx for the reply man, well after 2 days of testing, about a total of 20 hours or so I have gotten to it a setting that is much better!

vCore: 1.400v (in bios)
2.60ghz (10x260)
4xHTT: 1040mhz (2080mhz effective HTT)
Temps: 30 - 36 idle / 46 - 50 full load (48 avg)

I just set the vcore at 1.475 then tested the settings for an hour on prime95 then went down a notch on the vcore in the bios then tested it each time for an hour on prime95 again until i got an unstable one. On the setting i got it stable on (1.400v) i ran prime95 for a little over 8 hours and reached that max temp of 50 degrees C and had 0 errors / 0 warnings and no freezes. Also ran 3Dmark and PCmark, as well as a few game benchmarks and am now using it and have had no problems and seems completly stable. I have also ran EuroSoft PC Check on all of my components and everything is still checking out and passing all tests on the settings! So I think I either did good or just got lucky, lol! 8)

Either way im pleased with the results!
