Hi,
I have an Epson 4870 and am so far pleased with it. The big problem for me
is lack of documentation.
Does anyone know of a manual or document which would help me scanning with
this scanner?
Particularly interested in what the different setting (colour, histogram,
curves, denistometer) do and are used for in scannin, in contrast to image
manipulation.
Thanks.
Ken Perrott.

The manuals are specific to what software you are using. My
Epson 4870 PRO came with two programs, Epson Scan and
SilverFast AI.

Epson Scan:
There is an "Electronic Manual" on the CD (in HTML format),
and it should be installed on your hard disk when you
installed Epson Scan.

SilverFast
There's an "Electronic Manual" on the CD (in PDF format),
and you can print it out (if you like). Watch out, though,
it's something like 400 pages.

Sure, I have these.
My point is that they are too limted - I want something that goes into more
detail about where one should use the densitometer, etc.

Hi, that's a very good site! I thought I knew a bit about scanners but
I may even buy the book!
