It's pathetic to see the complete bias towards anything M$.
The jump on the iPhone as being junk without even freakin' owning one nor even reviewing one!!!! Say what? What kind of journalistic integritiy is that? This place is no better (actually worse) than "the Inquirer" and other space aliens ate my baby rags.
Does Apple not send TG any advertisement dollars?
It's sad, really sad to see -- perhaps the most obvious case of purile journalism on the internet.
Oh well, I should know by now, to think TG would actually try to step above the ignorance of it's devoted followers. Feed them what they wanna hear so they come back -- sounds religious.
I can see why those that have been around TG for a long long time are visiting less as your journalistic integrity becomes laughable.
Because he's Steve Jobs little crack wh*re...he currently has 3 arses and each has a iPhone in each crevice...I know this becasue I've seen him in action. LOL

First and fore-most fcuk you and the horse you rode in on....
Second the mere suggestion that yet another you-can-do-it-all from this one device (while driving , applying make-up and jerking-off no doubt) is being launched, speaks volumes to how vacuous the people of this planet have become. Your out-rage at the lack of serious attention given this latest , frivolous toy , suggests you would like to be the shepherd leading the ? HURD? in its direction..... So just fcuking Blow Me!
Either you're a corporate slut, or a corporate slave. This is the Other, though, so I don't give a toss which, you're getting the llama suit. Sorry.
Before we go down that road, though, first I ned to get some steam out. Four fucking fingers wrapped in bandages and a small fortune out of my finances due to minor carelessness, and you come along. *sigh*
If you're getting annoyed about the pro-M$ propaganda, get in line. If you'e getting annoyed about the pro-Apple propaganda, get in line. Failing that, look into Linux, you sad little twerp.
Hokay, 'nuff ranting. Now...
*bludgeons V8VENOM (an all-caps name? sad.) into a borderline comatose state with a Nokia 9300º (screw Apple's silly little toys)*
*stuffs V8VENOM into a llama suit*
*arranges V8VENOM artistically into an alluring position*
*backs off to a safe distance, opens beer cooler and sets up lawn chairs and HD cameras*
ºBefore anyone asks, I didnt use my 9300 - so mu death metal stream to my right ear is uninterrupted.
To all pedants here - I've got four fingrs in bandages, so you can sod off for now. Unless you want to lose bonuses...
Listen ass-wipe ...I've owned the same motorola cell-phone since oh... about 2002...A small non flip unit (no fcuking ribbon cable to crack), for pictures I Have a Fuji 5 mp that does all I need in a camera , My internet access is anchored to a desk-top.
I like so many millions , have no need to be constantly in-touch with everything & everyone (10 yr's from now the shrinks are going to have a syndrome name for all the people who Think they need all this shit if they don't already)
For the select few who do require such a device for their occupation , its most likely a wonderful product . But I don't see it being marked to them...From what I've seen it's being markeded to "The Masses" WHO DON"T FCUKING NEED IT!!
Oh Fcuk you anyway this is the other....What happened to the no tech talk in "The Other" Rule?
WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD ANYBODY IN THEIR RIGHT SODDING MINDS WANT TO PLAY GAMES ON A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT DESIGNED AND BUILT FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN?!?!?!?
More importantly...
WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WOULD ANYBODY IN THEIR RIGHT SODDING MINDS WANT TO PLAY GAMES WHEN THERE'S SO MUCH ELSE TO DO OUT THERE?!?!?!?
Got that out of my system. Okay.
Let's see - I want to listen to mp3s while I'm out and about. Cool - I can spend R1,500 on an iPod and R500 on a pair of nifty wireless headphones. And that's excluding all the accessories like sound docks and other iPod shit. Total: R2,000. (substitute Zune if you like).
I have a Nokia 9300 cellphone, with bluetooth and a memory card slot.
R130 on a bluetooth headset, R450 on a 2GB MMC memory card, and my phone's set to stream death metal to my right ear via bluetooth all day - mp3 format gives me 1 hour on 64MB, or 32 hours on 2GB, so make that 1.5 days - for a total cost of R580, plus I don't need to take the thing off to carry a conversation or answer the phone. So fuck the iPod/Zune, use your cellphone!
I have NO Microsoft OR Apple involvement when it comes to music on the go - instead I have Nokia. Instead of developing another single-function toy, I made a multiple-function tool perform another function.
Also, the only MS product on my PC is XP Pro. Open-source is the way to go, not whining and bitching about Apple vs MS, so take this puerile, boring and ultimately pointless argument up into the section of the Forumz that are meant for it.
This is the Other. Different rules apply here. Get used to it, and get out.
have no need to be constantly in-touch with everything & everyone (10 yr's from now the shrinks are going to have a syndrome name for all the people who Think they need all this shit if they don't already)
I think it looks cool, has some great functionality features, and is very smart.
What I do NOT think is cool is simple. It has very little memory for something that will do "everything". 8G sounds like a lot until you realize that my music collection is hovering around 60G and a single weeks worth of the Daily Show and Colbert is 2G.
The other is probably the actual interface. I would like to plug this sucker into my computer and simply drag and drop to it like it was a directory, folder, or storage device. Put music in "music" and all the rest. I doubt you will be able to even bring this thing near a computer w/o having to install something on it, never-mind trying to access it.
Another possible negative it the apparent lack of a battery door. One thing a lot of Pod users have complained about the latest incarnations is the inability to switch batteries themselves.
Finally, the cost. Although the plan seems to be great for what you get, $60 for unlimited internet (which also probably uses your air-time, my guess, so it is not TRULY unlimited), is about $40 cheaper than any other out there.
But it does not look like you get any discount on the phone because of it! So I can see where this lower price might be coming from.
The other thing to consider is its inability to be configured for any other network (so far). I really hate this licensing BS, and although it is not THEIR fault, you would think something as prominent as this would garner more support and be able to get these companies to allow cross-platforming.
All in all the thing looks great, albeit expensive. And you must always follow the golden rule. Wait 6 months for anything technical. You will avoid the mad rush and E-Bay vultures, and you will not be a part of the extended "beta", the first fools that find any glitch in the system after open release.
So whatever Mr. TomatoJuiceSpideyFoe. In the future I would suggest that you try not to put on a tirade about someone being a player when you yourself are wearing a brand name on your chest. It seems to hurt your credibility.
It's pathetic to see the complete bias towards anything M$.
