I have Samsung TS-H552 that was working up until a minute ago. at the time I was installing sp2, and had just gotten done installing Marc Ecko's Contents under pressure from the pc-dvd. I had needed to reboot and then nothing, no dvd drive to be found.. I have since detached the drive, rebooted, turned pc off, reattached dvd drive, rebooted. that didnt work.. I have tried another drive and it too does not work. also It is NOT showing up in the BIOS

I actually have already done something similiar. I unplugged hdd on the same ide cable and the dvd worked fine..Im thinking its the cable is bad as I have jumpers all set properly for master and slave drives. any comments?

if the jumper are setting propertly then is the cable,
or better the second connection to cable.
since it works with the first connection.
change it.

I wouldnt hook up a dvd burner on the same IDE cable as your hard drive. from what I have been told is that its not reccomended.
