As the subject shows I'm trying to build a cheap 3GHz able Core 2 Duo system. The major problem i face is the motherboard & ram required to OC the E6300/E6400 CPU. Can you help me out?

As far as i know i need:

 for E6300 to do 3ghz: 429Mhz bus able motherboard and 858MHz DDR2 able memory (i guess this is expensive)

 for E6400 to do 3ghz: 375MHz bus able motherboard and 750MHz DDR2 able memory (and this is cheap IMO)

Right?

So i need suggestions for motherboard and ram if you please. Thanks.

PS: I never owned a Intel based system before so excuse my mistakes :)

for "easy" Ocing, you are looking to buy ddr2 800mhz memory for both cases. You can go with 667mhz and get the 6400 and give it a go. some 667 are able to go to 800mhz, it's just a matter of luck of the draw when the modules get binned.

I don't plan to get anything except DDR2-800 modules.
So far I'm planing to get:
Asus P5B-E - i wish i could find something cheaper
Kingmax KLDD48F - i think this will do

What do i think? Anything you might change?

The DS3 is cheaper and a great overclocker. I believe most of the bios problems should be fixed but the kingmax memory boots up at 1.8V so it should be Ok with any bios revision shipped on teh board.

I am going to assume that the kingmax memory will have a hard time pushing over 800mhz but again it's luck of the draw.

Where will you be ordering from?

No newegg here so I'll get everything from a local computer shop. It's only 20$ past newegg so i think is OK considering I'm living in east EU.

Hmm The DS3 is cheaper is it able to push 400MHz+ bus?
