I have a HP Scanjet 4200C. The software it comes with is HP Precisionscan
LT. I am not especially happy with the software. I downloaded the HP
Precisionscan Pro 3.0 software from the Download.com website. The software
seems a lot better, but it does not recognize the 4200C scanner. Is there
any way to get this software to recognize my scanner?

One thing is your scanner/source driver and the other is your scanning
software.
Any twain compatible scanner should be recognized by any scanning
application.
Check if your scanner is correctly installed on your operating system.

Well, what you're saying sounds logical to me, however the
PrecisionScan LT recognizes the scanner and Precision Scan Pro
does not.

Bill, excuse me you say you have the HP Precisionscan pro 3.0 for scanjet 4200c and say not to be happy, i would be happy if i get it with you, because i have a scanner like that, but i don't have any software to use it.
