I think multi core GPU's are on the horizon. I hope they come soon because SLI just isn't worth the cost. Not to mention there is always a new card coming out. The video card is one of the most commonly replaced item in a PC. So why replace 2 cards all the time. SLI is only needed to run resolutions over 1600x1200.
Yeah thats what I thinking. But everyone seems to be all hyped up about SLI. I thought that maybe I was wrong and didn't fully understand the technology.
The 7950 isn't truly multi-core. It's just 2 physically seperate cards sharing the same bandwidth. Although the overhead created by the crosstalk of the cards does cripple the performance a tiny bit. I'm interested how the 8xxx series will turn out since they're goign to have dedicated physics processors and ram.
think they will play dx9 games great.
but i guess well have to wait for dx10 Crying or Very sad
f.s.x is suppose to be out today (dx9 but should be? dx10 by patch)
with the release of vista and dx10.
i will probably buy f.s.x (i have 68gt,s) and see how it does.
i like the flight simms Smile
i will wait and see after r600 is out for a while and see if nv
comes out with some major improvement over the g80?
edit; if my current system is able to keep up. i think it will
for anthoer 1 year Question
Yeah, I know they'll be pretty good for DX9, but having to get Vista for DX10 and all its features is going to be a pain. I mean yeah they'll be able to emulate it a little bit with a patch, but it won't be the same.
I'm thinking I'll stick with the G90 (9800GT?) just for the power consumption. Either way, it's a lot of money.
Yeah, my current system is completely outdated so I'm just building up this one, rather curious. Technology, damn you moore. Damn you.
When you think about it though, a GPU is basically a CPU on steroids. The big difference is FPU performance/units. GPUs are specialized for FPUs but if you have enough cores on a CPU you could theoretically negate the need for a GPU but that's a while away.
80 cores what they cant even make one work right, i mean look at the guy whos always holding an entire silicon wafer in his BARE HANDS!!
Theres no way any of those cores will work after exposure to dead skin and oil.
What do you mean they can't even make one work right? Where is your proof? And yes he's holding it with his hands, but that's not an actual production wafer, that's just a show model. I mean come on, seriously, after making the Core 2 Duo and Extreme, do you think they'd be dumb enough to just go around grabbing the wafers and exposing them to human skin? Seriously dude, seriously.
