Hey, i am from Brazil and here the prices are'nt too nice, but i think i built a nice pc.

I prefer gaming on videogames rather on the PC, but i would like to play games like lineage, the sims 2, AOE 3, battlefield and i dont mind setting games in low configs. This pc lacks a nice video card, and i intend to upgrade it ASAP.

Take a look

i'll put the prices here in Brazil for the pieces:

INTEL Core 2 Duo E6400 (~398 USD)
MOBO INTEL DG965SSCK (~240 USD)
HDD SEAGATE ST3160023AS 160 GB, 7200, 8 MB Cache, SATA (~ 97 USD)
Kingston KVR533D2N4 1GB DDR2 533 (~148 USD)
RADEON X300SE/T 128MB (Yikes ...) (~ 76 USD)
Generic case w/ PSU 450W (~30 USD)
DVDR LG GSA-H20N (~ 50 USD)
DVD-CDR LG GCC-4521B (~ 34 USD)
LCD monitor LG L173SA w / tv tunner (dont really mind the size but the monitor features) (~ 462 USD)

I will spend aprox 1500 USD, those prices are from Brazil and there's nothing i can do about it really. I cant import stuff ...

I use the pc more for encoding/reencoding divx/xvid etc, internet, burning dvds, watching divx, torrents, and a few games. Mostly for amateur video recording.

What do you guys think???

I think we should find a way to Export pc's and make a boat-load of dough off the Brazilian dollar........i feel for ya bro.
Since you focus on burning DVD's then that's where i would spend the good money, on a nice
Plextor unit.

i have to say .. i never had any problems with my gsa lg 6123. Thats why i'm going to pick another lge drive. And a plextor here is like 300 USD, with that i can upgrade the E6400 to a E6600 and add a 1GB in the memory.

Can you get the 18X Samsung DVD burner? or maybe one of the NEC's... I try to stay away from LG computerwise...

Everything else looks fine, not sure how the generic PSU will do, might want to look into that.

Prolly cheaper to fly here, buy parts and return =(

I am not really worried about the drive, i do not try to stay away from LG ...
Almost everything eletronic wise i have is from LG ... no problems at all so far.
Maybe the PSU could be a problem, but i don't really know the brand by now.

go to the US = 2000,00 USD
buy parts i want =~ 1000,00 USD
come back to Brazil = 2000,00 USD
Pay tax/fee on the stuff that i bought that exceeds 500 USD (60%*500 = 300).

Final price of the fantasy PC trip
5300,00 USD

with that amount of money i can practically beat most of TH forums home desktops, even buying here.

I'll prolly get some more money and upgrade the video card to a x1300 256/512 and get a E6600.
