login issue and my workaround

I found an issue with the forums: for the last couple days I had trouble loggin in. Even though I can log in, as soon as I try to enter one of the boards the browser says "Error: the user account detected by cookie is no longer active. Click to login again". I would clear my cookies and allow cookies from the website, but that did not help.

Instead, I found that what I had to do was to log in, go to my user profile page, change some setting, then save my profile. After that I could visit the boards again using my user name.

didnt help with me! still experiencing the problem! cant browse a forum without the mistake,except this one!

We are in the process of major upgrades to the forums. There's an odd cookie issue, that we're tracking down right now, which may be related to the issue. I'll keep this thread posted as I know more.
