If my read thru the 1337 is correct, yoou want the best Core 2 system for under $1K correct?
One preliminary question, is that RAM DDR2 or DDR?

I'm going to assume that was a correct translation of whatever he said. My opinion is that im sticking with AMD for now ;) just be carefull when buying dual core cpus' clock speeds on most of htem are alot lower then of a single core cpu which means basicly programs not designed to run in multi threaded mode will actualy run slower. Man and people say I'm bad :-/

Not exactly true. Clock speed means nothing now. Architecture is everything.

Well i agree its not 100% true of course. Dont take it 100% litteraly though. However when it comes to the AMD dual core i do believe its basicly the same old chip mostly just with two together so that would be mostly true. Not sure how true it holds for intels new chips however.

If you really want to know, and be able to fullyparticipate in the Core 2 technical discussions, read thru some of the past (August - Sept) posts on anything with that smells like a technical discussion.

I warn you, it'll make your head hurt. That's your homework for today. I expect a full 2 page essay, that is grammatically correct, by tommorow via PM. :wink:

I chose the ECS board because of it's price and also because of the good reviews it has gotten not only from hardware sites but users on Newegg as well. Much better reviews then the other cheapest P965 based board the MSI P965.

BTW this system would run more then circles around the system you posted. Let's just say that it would be considered a high-end system at a mainstream price point. Odds are you'd have a faster system then any of your friends.

But back to the topic at hand, just as apt said, there is nothing really wrong with your system unless you desperately want to upgrade and if you want to start running Oblivion.
Your best bet would be to get a better GFX card.
If you really want to switch follow Elmo's advice.

Anyone ever change Google's language to H4X0R, pretty darn funny. I can read it, but I have trouble writing, mostly due to the 20 some odd-years of english being ingrained in me through schools and society. But my grammar is slowly fading as my engineering knowledge slowly rises.

Dude, my friends and I only use 1337 like as a joke, just to be dorks. Not like to ask a freaking question. Whatever, yeah, check out the E6300 or an E6600. Great value for the money. Look around for mobos you'd like and whatnot and please, NO MORE 1337!

Most anyone should be able to read that. The human brain does not process a word with individual letters but the first and last letter. Anything can be in the middle of the word but as long as the first and last letter are there anyone can read it. Or a letter that looks like the first letter like 1 looks like I and 5 looks like S and such.

I dont no how I got to out of 70 and get out of 637 though.

Edit: I asked my 12 year old brothers to read it. He read it fine and he's a B-C student.

Yeah, that's cool. I have a friend like that. He really tries and he doesn't get a 4.0 but at least he tries. There are tons of people at my school who cheat to get their 4.0 and it just bothers me. Now this dude, mr 1337 is my way of trying to fit in, just stop. I'd like to think for just a moment that this is a civilized forum.
