Well, this build I'm going to have to cut back on funds a little bit because I'm planning on buying 1 or 2 of the next-gen consoles. I have a new viewsonic widescreen monitor, keyboard/mouse, headset, dvd drive, and a dvd burner. I have about $1000 dollars to spend on everything else (if it goes over by 200 or so thats fine, I just need something to work with). I do know that I want to go for 2 gigs of ram, an x1900xt, and a conroe processor. I am looking to do some overclocking with the cpu, so keep that in mind when you suggest motherboards and heatsinks. And last thing, I am looking for something that is somewhat future proof, I do plan on upgrading this to its maximum potential eventually, so a motherboard that will be able to support kentsfields.

PS is this even a reasonable time to build a new PC, or is it better to wait and see how things shape up after vista release.
