I'm pretty sure the x1650pro (being a slightly upgraded x1600xt) is generally faster than the crippled 7600gs. It doesn't quite approach the performance of the 7600gt or x850, but I believe the upcoming x1650xt will.

The x1650xt will smoke the 7600GT, and be not far behind the 7900GS

Do you have any proof of this? Or is it just pure specualtion? 'Cause as far as i am aware no formal reviews have been published yet.

Im with sealboy.

The mem bus was holding the x1600 back. If the 1650 doesnt have a 256 bus then it will have a very hard time beating a 7900gs.

Remember, the 6600gt had a 200mHz clock advantage over the 6800 but the mem bus was half the size and only got 1/2 the stuff done. Bus size is important.

If ATI makes a 1600 with a 256 bus on the memory then it will be pretty much a pipe reduced x1800.. i think.

The 7600 GT has a 128-bit memory bus, as well... the 1600 was held back by it's 4 TMUs, not the memory bus.

The new X1650 XT has TWICE the TMUs and TWICE the shaders. It will very likely beat the 7600 GT by a bit, and achieve parity at the very least...
