What MOBOs do you suggest? I havent ordered yet.

SLI doesnt matter to me. It would be nice to have 2 pci-e slots, but thats not required. I would really like 4 dimm slots, and support c2d ex. It needs to be ATX.

Is $110 a definate price limit? Also, consider getting just a 1GB stick of RAM for now that way you can easily upgrade at a later point to 2GB without using all four slots. (the difference between 1T and 2T won't affect you too terribly much)

While the ECS will probably be fine (I am happy with mine) consider these as well:

If I were building a C2D system right now, this is the MOBO I would go with:

You'll be fine with the ECS though, I'm sure...

Well, no more than $125. Thats as high I will go. I have to build a budget gaming system.

NOOOO!!!! I bought that board while under a budget for my 6300 and it's horrible!! My DDR2-800 runs @ 667 and there are NO options in bios!! It's horrible mobo for anything more than basic computer usage... of course, this is from my experience with this board. I bought a Gigabyte 965-S3 and it's amazing! (of course it's not top-of-the-line, but I don't need that... there's a new top-of-the-line every other time I check Tom's Hardware) So, in my opinion, if you want a mobo for anything other than basic computing, do not get that ECS board!! ...although for your budget... I'd defitnately have to recommend the board I purchased...
The only difference between the S3 and DS3 is solid caps... mine overclocks to 2.8ghz without breaking a sweat!! I could go higher, but 18min pi 32m is just fine!

Good luck!

My system: (in a Cooler Master Centurion 5)
E6300 @ 2.8ghz (Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro w/AS5)
Gigabyte 965-S3 (w/F5 bios/AS5 on NB + added fan)
Geil DDR2-800 @ 400mhz (2x512)
74G Raptor (os)
250G WD (storage)
Sony DVD-RW
BFG 7600GToc
Thermaltake 430W (i need to upgrade this)

I love this setup... I followed Wusy's Conroe OC'ing guide and easily got to 2.8ghz... I stopped there because I was getting big temp differences... bios/easytune 5 reported 33C idle/45C load.... while Intel TAT reported 42C idle/55C load... I believe the bios more, so I will probably oc some more just to see, but I don't think it'll make much difference, other than faster benchmarks. As a side note... I just bought the Raptor and I must say I'm a little dissapointed... My WD 250G SataII drive wasn't slow enough to warrant the $150 price tag on the Raptor so I may be sending it back... Granted, it IS faster, just not as fast as I thought it would be... too much hype... or maybe I got a bad one... Have you purchased a system yet?
