I WAS GIVEN A USED PC WITH AN INTEL 845WN BOARD, AND A 2.4 P IV CPU..........I HAVE READ AND BEEN TOLD THAT ASUS BOARDS ARE PRETTY RELIABLE AND FAIRLY EASY TO SETUP AND CONFIGURE.

MY QUESTION IS: WHICH ASUS BOARD WOULD SUIT ME BEST? I WILL USE THE PC MAINLY FOR SURFING, MUSIC DOWNLOADING AND SOME OFFICE APPS..........BUT NO GAMING.AL
SO, CAN ANY OF YOU RECOMMEND A VENDOR THAT SELL ASUS BOARDS?

ANY ASSISTANCE YOU COULD PROVIDE WOULD BE MOST WELCOME!

REGARDS,
MIKE from NEW ORLEANS

Mike,

If the box is running the way it is, why not leave it alone. Usually, motherboard, cpu, ram, power supply all match up to make a class of computer. To upgrade a computer, mostly done is adding more memory. Sometimes a faster processor might be done but usually isn't cost effective because newer processors that are faster are cheaper then the up-graded one. BUT they require a whole new set-up. See what I mean?

Yes, that would have been helpful info. I'm wondering though, how have you determined that it's the MB that has failed?
