Get rid of the Geil memory, that RAM is nothing trouble and very unstable.
Look to Kingston, Corsair, Crucial or OCZ for your RAM........
I would upgrade the PSU also to around 600W, tis better to have too much than not enough.

Its really unusual to see an optical drive costing more than a HD. Any particular reason you picked that Plextor over the more usual $35 DVD+RW?

Artic Silver 5 not required with that HSF. The Freezer Pro 7 comes with its own thermal compound already applied.

Maybe a less expensive case, the $35 optical drive and no AS5 will let you bump the RAM up to 2GB? That would be a better option IMO.

OK so thanks for the input. I decided to change ram and optical and forego the thermal paste, didn't know it was included with HSF.

RAM $132.00 - CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Optical $48.99 - SONY 16X DVD±R, 5X DVD-RAM DVD Burner E-IDE/ATAPI

Also another question. If I wanted to go with SLI on this rig in the future would 500W psu cut it?
