I am ordering the following system tonight:

COOLER MASTER Praetorian PAC-T01-EK Black Case
Scythe SCINF-1000 120mm CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz LGA 775
eVGA 512-P2-N573-AR Geforce 7900GTO 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
BIOSTAR TForce965PT Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

I am still trying to decide on a Power Supply.

My buddy ordered a Antec Power Supply with his new comp a few weeks ago. The Antec was DOA so he RMAed it and bought a OCZ 700w Gamerextreme PS. He is going to sell me the RMA'd Antec for $20.

The Antec model is:

Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W Power Supply 115/230 V UL

When I looked at the newegg reviews there were quite a few people who had to RMA theirs on arrival also, some even made comments it would be possible to fry your mobo and video card with this power supply if you get a bad one.

Do you guys really think this PS is that risky? $20 is a great deal for a $100 PS but if you guys think it is risky and might cause hardware failure I would rather dump $120 into a OCZ 600w PS.

I have one. It's great. Very quiet! My system is rock solid stable with it. $20 is a steal!!! :D

I would not hesitate to buy that PSU.

I have had several of the TruePower series, including the 550. Not a problem with any fialing, except for one which got water spilt into it.
They are good power supplies, at least the True Power series...

The NeoHE series is the best ive seen from Antec. But for $20 youve got nothing to complain about :D

Thanks for the help everyone. I was just a little paranoid about this Antec 550w since some people were claiming these particular PSU's were prone to fail and could take your hardware with it.

I am on a budget right now so I will save money where I can.

Also does anyone think I am blowing more money then I should on any of this hardware?

Good, youve come the to expert :D
You HSF and memory tells me you want to OC (a hella lot) but your mobo tells me complety otherwise. How far do you wish to push that E6300?

I want to overclock 3.2ghz+ ideally. But Stability is also very important so what MB would you recommend? (under $160 if possible?)

ok good, good.
You might wanna get a Silverstone FM121 for the Scythe Infinity. It will increase its performance considerably.

Froogle down a X1900XT 256mb, if you find it at the same price than the 7900GTO, get it.

The Gigabyte DS3 could get you that far. But the mobo ive seen to fly the highest is the Asus P5B Deluxe.

OCZ Platinum Revision 2 $235AR on newegg. Guaranteed 550Mhz CL5.

A E6400 with 667 CL4 will get you that 3.2Ghz easier than the E6300 IMO. Search on prices wich ones comes in cheaper.
