fault finding mission

what ii know so far.... e6600, DQ6 (f6), corsir 6400 5-5-5-12 2 gig, 7900gt, samsung 205bw, coolmaster 450w truepower, 320gig wd 320js, games playing fear,just cause,flight sim2004,elder scrols, am finding on some games when i turn up the res e.g 1280x1050 the comp shuts itself down, and re sets, can conclude its not power, please help me as its so frustrating, someone out there must know!!!!!. ps. have latest drivers for nvida 91.84

I would check with the basics....you ruled out the power supply. Could it be the CPU overheating or the video card>? If you rule that out could it be a video driver conflict. Do you have the latest driver for you video card?

yeah i have the latest driver, i have a monitoring program thats telling me my temps are fine, 34 degrees c, i have 6 internal fans in a kandalf case so the air flow it surperb, interesting to note my 3D MARK test was 5240, iam not sure if thats good or bad????

Ahhh did you test your memory? Could be a bad module or might just need to reseat it in the slot.

yeah hadnt thought of that, i might try that tonight, it does say on the post screen memory is 'interlaced'???? is that 3d mark score bad???

Which 3D mark test? 03 05 06?

o5 i think...good question, i will be honest just cause runs flawless, its just that others arent....

very interesting to note that mine is underpreforming i think at the time i had the res 1600x1250 i think, but its still preforming worse than a 7800gt, its looking more and more like a graphic prob. maybe i should ask the dealer to swap it over as its only a mth old???
