I wonder if anybody in this forum is aware of any published data on the
sort of wavelength response that one might expect from an Epson
Perfection 2400 photo scanner. I know it is a long way from the CIE XYZ
curves and I do understand the design reasons for using non-CIE curves
to scan three colour printed material. But I would like to use a graph
of the response to show why a scanner presents calibration difficulty
when using non-natural materials to calkibrate the scannere for natural
materials.

What I would like is a response of the three colours RGB in wavelength
terms, taking into account the fact that a white cold cathode
fluorescent lamp is used for illumination.

I understand that the sensor is a proprietary "Epson MatrixCCD"
technology but cannot find details.

Failing getting this data for this epson or similar scanner i would be
interested in any details of other similar scanners as UI believe that
they will exhibit the same problems.

It is important that the data is in the public domain as i want to use
it in a conference presentation.

TIA

Bob J.
