Not able to install hp printer in windows 7

Hello,
i have a 1315 hp printer. i downloaded the hp printing software from hp website for windows7 64 bit. during installation after the i agree page, the installation box suddenly vanishes. i tried disabling anti-virus but no go.

I had this same problem and figured out a workaround. i wrote it up here
