I will be upgrading to Vista when it ships and I'm wondering because I will be gaming will I need 2gb or 4gb of ram? I heard that vista is a memory hog and seen reports stating that 2gb might not be enough. So, should I buy 2gb or 4gb for Vista?

Well ideally what I wanted to do with my next machine (with Vista x64) was have 4 gigs of RAM. I figured that it could really use 2 gigs right now, and although the other 2 would be a bit overkill atm, considering future games and native 64-bit apps (which presumably would take up more memory due to larger data widths) then 4 would probably be the best option. Unfortunately at the moment, RAM is expensive :( I'm hoping that come February when I'm ready to build, there will be reasonably priced 4 gig dual channel packs available.

4gb is better then 2gb, for vista 64 bit. I am looking for after vista 64 bit come out, you could go to 8gb. For gaming more memory is better.

My understanding is that Vista will require 2 gigs min.for everyday use.So I would get 4 gigs.Goodluck.
