I read the post about gain on a Gigabyte 965 board and i have the 945. There are two problems, first i cant adjust the microphone input volume so i have to yell, second the blue input and my tv tuner card out don't work together. I keep getting the error that it cant render audio stream or some shizint. Would i be able to get away w/ el cheapo green, blue, pink soundcard or is there some kind of setting i'm missing?

I forget where but there is a check box for microphone boost. And check to make sure you have the latest bios and onboard sound drivers installed.

hi.
for tv-tuner to work(have sound) it is needed to connected to the line-in of your card.
as for microphone(i am not sure about it)but i think it uses the line-in in onboard sound cards.
get a sound card will solve your problems and deactivate onboard sound.

I'm leaning that way...... Onboard sound worked fine for me until this C2D upgrage....... Sheesh....
