I was never able to do this on other baords but this one allows me to independently raise the fsb on the cpu seperate from the ram which is pretty cool. My last asus didn't allow that so it didn't over clock that well. Gosh i feel old lol.
Once you put in your second 7950 GT, despite your weeker OC you will still beat a non SLI intel chipset.
The P5N32 SLI was never a very strong OC MB.... BUT your SLI will make up for it in games...
I once had a similar problem in trying to get my P5N32 SLI to get a decent OC. I attached extra Intel HSF to both the NB and SB now im in the 5.0 Ghz club. It does have good OC potential, you just need to know how, and you need a decent PSU. (Water cooling helps too)
Hmmm...what are your chipset temperatures? The heatpipe on the chipset isn't made to go upside down like that, the chemical in the pipe is made to go one way. If you had a different case to use, you might get a better OC out of it.
Thats correct P5N32 was never made to go upside down into a Lian Li thats why I later got an MM U2 UFO. Apparenlty heat pipes dont work upside down without a wick.
Now with the heat pipes orientated the correct way and along with the added HSF. I can push the CPU to 5.73Ghz, its stable via prime 95 for 48 hrs.
The NB and SB temps are about 38 deg C.
The CPU is 44 under load.
So for all you people that got a 965x or 975x chipset.... I feel sorry for you.... 5 Ghz is the norm however 5.73 is above average.
