More Information

I need a critique of a planned computer build for two new machines.

I was originally trying to keep the build under $500 each, but also looking for some performance.

Very limited game use, on second PC.

I considering OC on air only.

Build Experience is moderate, but not for a few years.

Common Components:

** Motherboard: AOpen i945Ga-PLF (Already Purchased for $68 each, OEM Open Box [Unknown BIOS Ver yet.])
** MEM: A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) $214
** PSU: nMEDIAPC Mute Power MP-500 ATX12V $60

** HD1: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $78

** Case: NZXT Apollo BLACK NP Black Secc Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail $70

Computer 1: (Lightweight Use)
** CPU: Intel Pentium D 915 Presler 2.8GHz 2 x 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail $135

Computer 2: (Development & Video / OC Possible)
** CPU: Intel Pentium D 930 Presler 3.0GHz 2 x 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Dual Core Processor - Retail $157
** GPU: eVGA 256-P2-N612-TX GeForce 7600 GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail $115

** CPU Fan: COOLER MASTER RR-LCH-P9E1 92x25 mm (compatible with 80mm fan) UFO Bearing CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink - Retail $29
** Case Fan: AeroCool XtremeTurbine-Blue 120mm Sleeve Case Cooling Fan - Retail $13
** CPU Paste: Arctic Silver 5 $6

Potential Issues:

Cooling issues even before OC.

Power Supply could be junk.

Case, while seeming to indicate adequate ventilation might not.

MoBo's might be a low rev on BIOS, forcing me to buy some cheap CPU just to flash them.

CPU Fan might not be worth the cost for a mild OC. Might also not fit too well.

Memory might not work, compatability list was short on MFG site. Mobo on OC sites seems not to have any remarks on memory. Also not sure what timings to shoot for without killing budget. Board spec is for DDR2 667.

MoBo was chosen to keep as much legacy HD capacity as possible, while still giving a Dual Core capable machine, and future SATA 2.0 use.

I'd be grateful for a check of the build.
