I just installed the WinXP op. system and set up an internet connection (ADSL). The problem is that I have to wait for a minute or two to connect to the internet, the network connection in the control panel also doesnt start. I think it has something to do with the services in the administrative tools in the control panel. One of the services seems to startup slowly. Otherwise, when this service is started everything works great. Please help.

hmm sounds like and internal tiumeout, maybe waiting for the DHCP Server to give out a lease... try give a fixed IP to the puter. Just an uneducated guess from me =) details would be nice.

My friend has dsl and he has it set where it doesnt connect at boot. He wants to manually connect only when he wants on the net. If yours is set up like this that may be why it takes awhile before the connection is working.
There should be a selection to start the connection every time windows starts up.
