This is my specs:

Corsair 2gbs, PC6400 , 4-4-4-12
Core 2 Duo, E6300
Gigabyte 965P-DS3
Truepower II antec, 550 W
Creative xi-fi sound card
X1900XT

this is the problem, comp won't post. I get continous short beeps coming outta my mobo. The manual says it is due to a power error. I tried reconnecting everything and even tried the power supply in a different system. it works fine. THis is exactly what happens:

I boot it up, fans start turning for maybe about 3 seconds. Fans turn off, and system shuts down, 1 second later, fans turn on again automatically and system comes back to life with continous short beeping sounds.

I am certain there isnt' a problem with my power, maybe its my ram?

Do a minimal boot. 1 stick of ram, no sound card, no cd drives, mouse and keyboard only. Take your mobo out of it's case and set it on a cardboard box, this will make sure your motherboard isn't shorting out due to contact from the metal case. If you remembered to put the raisers on the case then you probably don't need to do this. Make sure you have properly plugged in all necessary power cables and parts.

Clear your CMOS data and try again. Try a different video card if you have one. Try your second stick of ram or another stick of ram if you have one. If that doesn't work try to test everything in another computer, RAM, VGA, CPU. If you cant test everything in another computer then you can't know exactly what the problem is. You have to find out what the problem hardware piece is by the process of elimination. If you cannot do this I would suggest RMA'ing your motherboard. That would be the first thing I take back as it has a higher chance of failing if you were to ask me.

It sucks when you *cant* eliminate each piece of hardware due to not having a second computer that could test everything for you. I had the same problem of not knowing what the hell was wrong with my computer for several months waiting for shit to be RMA'd.

BTW is this a new build or has this build worked befor but now doesn't work?
