Hello, I have a DLink DI-714P+ access point for a small wireless
network -- PC's running Windows XP. One computer has a shared folder
that I can access perfectly if I hard wire the computers together. As
a wireless network, I can see the computer names in windows explorer,
and can even see the share names. If I map a network drive, that
usually works, but I can not access any files in the share. Instead
windows explorer locks up. Using the command prompt and the "net"
commands, I can see the computers and shares as expected, but the cmd
session locks up whenever I try to access the files. If I change the
wireless network and just make two computers "ad-hoc" peer-to-peer
clients, I can access the shares perfectly. This tells me the problem
is the DI-714P+. However, I can't find any settings for internal
firewall rules. Besides, if I can see the shares, NETBios (ports
137/139) should be open anyways. Please help! This is causing many
problems!! All client PCs can access the Internet perfectly using the
AP. Thanks for any help.
