I've an HP 6300C with ADF.

I'd like to scan very long documents (47 centimeters long).

How can I do it ??? I've about 300 of them to scan.

How do you do it? (You rewrite or hack the software driving the ADF unit).

47 Centimeters is about 18.5 inches American.
There may be commercial scanners that will scan documents longer than 14
inches. (Blue Print scanners).

I do not think you will find a business or home scanner with ADF that has
the software configured to scan longer that Legal size. An ADF is dependent
on the software that drives it.

To scan 470 mm requires at least an A2 scanner (420mm x 594mm). About 16 1/2
X 23 3/8 inches American.

If you only need extra length you could make 2 scans and merge them with
photo editing software. A lot of work for sure.

Depending on the quality you need, you could photograph the documents. Would
require a digital camera and a tripod at least.

You can either use a scanner that handles images that large, or you
can scan the document in pieces and paste them together.

So long as the resolution is the same for all the segments, you can
cut and past them back together into a larger image. You may need to
do some trial and error rotating of the pieces with photoshop or GIMP
or [insert photoediting program here] to match them up properly, but
you can get some pretty decent results if you're careful. Not
practical if you have a lot of documents though.
