Ok so I'm new here but im not that new with computers but I never used RAID.
I just bought 2 Raptors and I was wondering how to install them.
So far I googled a few things and it seems installing RAID through hardware is faster.
So I have a ECS C19-A SLI.
So what steps do I do right from the start.
I enable the SATA controller from the BIOS and then enable the 2 channels where my HDDs will be then restart.
I then go in the BIOS NV utility or whatever and set up my RAID using stripe mode blah blah blah.
That is to merge my 2 HDDs in one so windows install recognises it as one ???
Then when the install comes up I press F6 and then install the RAID drivers from there and then im good.
The thing im wondering though is that in my BIOS when I go in the RAID options theres SATA 1 RAID Primary and SATA 1 RAID secondary
SATA 2 Primary and SATA 2 Secondary.
Is this like 1/2 and 3/4 on diff. adapters? and how do I know in wich I hook them in when its not labelled anywhere not even in the mobo's manuel.
If im wrong in what I said can someone shine some light on this for me.
I know some of you are really good for this and I really would like to set this up.
I dont have the Raptors yet ... I know if I had them I would play around but of course id like to know before I get them :p
Oh yah and of course I need to put both on MASTER
Thanks a lot for the help if anyone can help me !
