What and when will AMD make another socket?

Hey, the question is rather simple. When AMD goes Quad core next year, will they still be in the AM2 socket, or will they update to another socket?

Now -> AM2
Q3 2007 -> AM2+ ( HyperTransport 3.0 new in AM2+)
Somewhere in 2008 -> AM3 (DDR3 new in AM3)

AM2+ and AM3 CPUs will work on AM2 socket.
AM3 CPUs will have DDR2 and DDR3 controllers.

Actually, AM2 will only get dual core, but it will be based on Barcelona(K8L). FX\4x4 will get the quad core from Socket F. The mobile version of K8L will come out first on Socket S1, then server on Socket F, then K8L dektop on AM2+\AM2.

I wouldn't be surprised if AMD doesn't have two controller types with AM3. They won't need to.

It would b gud for those who have AM2 and will have AM2+. They can upgrage with the latest CPUs.
AM3 will b released in 2008 when the price of DDR3 will still b high.

Some AM3 mobos may have both DDR2 and DDR3 ram slots. Making AMD systems upgradeable and inexpensive.
