A8N-SLI NIC ERROR

hi i booted up my computer installed the newest nforce drivers for the mb. It install the drivers for the port but when i plug in the cable it does not read it. It says its disconnected. I plugged it into the second NIC it came with and it doesn't work also. Is there a way to fix that error? When i look under my drivers it says ethernet controll is missing its drivers any one know where i can find the ethernet drivers for this mobo? I went to asus website and it gave me te same drivers. Need help please, i dont want to go buy new nic card for the mobo. I am on sisters computer so please need help asap.

Doesn't XP have a 'driver rollback'?

And a NIC is only £2/$3, it's not a huuge hassle.

its a big deal if you dont have anohter pci slot. so any idea why the os does not read the nic n also the bios does not read the bios
